Bowdon Killer Bees 3 - Satan's Wasps 2

The showpiece match on the grass at Bowdon was this local derby between the local rivals as all the other teams in the pool had been scared off by the fact that we could field 18 players on our lowest team!

A still, dry afternoon and good surface were the perfect conditions for a quality game. Quality in the Wasps lineup was bolstered by the experienced and veteran (respectively) Hudson & Cheetham whilst the Bees had the roving Hawkins starting at the centre back but also exploding down the right wing at times which is, indeed, a sight to behold! (Oi!!! - Ed)

A very even match ensued which was level 2-2 at half time, with a 3-2 victory to the Bees only secured late into the second half. Promising performances from Scowcroft & Cannock, playing at short notice who may progress at least one team higher if they maintain this application. The only possible hinderance to the Bees progress is their reliance on a 5-4-1-1 formation at times which necessitates the Keeper to fill in as top centre half! (Hmmm... I sense a dig there... - Ed)

In the abscence of any other clubs fielding 4th/5th teams, at least a couple of rematches look on the cards for this season.
