South Cheshire 0 - Bowdon Killer Bees 3

The day started with a ridiculously early start, it came as a shock to discover that there's more than one 10:30 in the day. Giles yet again stunned the team with his punctuality, but eventually we hit the road and arrived in a somewhat chilly Congleton.

The Bees play their traditional 3-4-3 formation, with Giles between the sticks. Olly gave us his normal "motivational" talk, going on about his tight ring and the need for close marking.

The first half started with the Bees giving away a series of silly short corners, fortunately the defence were up to the task and no goals were conceded. Andy White, making the left wing his own, scored for the Bees after some rather dubious play and so the half finished with the Bees one up.

After some more "motivation" from our fearless leader, the Bees began the second half in confident fashion. The defense wasn't really troubled (it was bloody cold out there with nothing to do!) and most of the play seemed to be in the South Cheshire half. The rotund one slotted in a short corner, which must have had deceptive pace as the South Cheshire keeper sportingly lifted his leg over the ball and let it in. The South Cheshire team's head dropped and a third goal was scored by Dave Phillips. The game finished 3-0 with the Bees victorious.

Personally, I thought South Cheshire did pretty well considering how young they are and their relative experience of the Bees.

My personal highlights were:
1. Yokker's claim that every one of his shots was saved, and not one went wide
2. Dave's control of the ball after Olly thumped it at him
3. The short corner that ended with Yokker swinging through 720 degrees as the ball went passed him.
